CASINO FUNDRAISER

Casinos are the top fundraiser for Edmonton Public Schools. Garneau School can apply to AGLC (Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis) every two years for a casino night. By filling ALL volunteer shifts, the school earns $50,000 to $75,000 for student learning, field trips, and school upgrades. 

Why We Need Volunteers

• Big Earnings: The school makes $50,000 to $75,000 per casino event

• Strict Rules: AGLC requires a full team of volunteers to release these funds

• Strict Uses: Money goes only to approved school items and gets audited each year

What Volunteers Do

• Safe Tasks: You help run the event under a licensed supervisor

• No Gambling: Volunteers do not handle or play casino games

• Easy Jobs: Get free on-site training, meals, and snacks

Open Roles

• Casino Parent Lead: Handle forms and talk with AGLC, supervisors, and helpers. A FOGS member will guide you.

• Parent Volunteers: Work shifts, meet Garneau families, and enjoy free food.

• Location: Starlight Casino (West Edmonton Mall)
